Bit of a weird one, this, but I'm trying to track down anyone who's ever had any dealings with Gentry Investment Trust, an outfit based until recently on the Isle of Man.

I'm making this as public as possible because I'm dearly hoping that anyone who googles either "Gentry Investment Trust" or "Gentry IT" sees this post, and responds to it.

Anyone who once had dealings with "Hamilton House Associates" in Birkenhead back in the 80s and 90s, or the San Francisco-based Consolidated Sterling Deposits, or any of their directors, staff or associates, is also urged to make contact.

Ask parents, neighbours, friends. One quizzical look back won't take too much of your time - one raised eyebrow would however assist me greatly.

I do recall Hamilton House Assoc in Birkenhead. The person in charge was ex Mersey Docks & Harbour Board and he set himself up to advise ex dockers on where to invest their redundancy money. He was convicted of fraud and I believe sent to jail. Gentry and Dublin Corporate FInance appear to be similar investment vehicles to the one he touted- Consolidated Sterling Deposits.

Just spoken to my Aunt, she had £80,000 invested in Gentry/Dublin Finance and has now found out that she has lost it all, do you have any information about what happened to this outfit?

Any updates on the Gentry IT issue? I have just found out my 84 yr old dad has invested through this company and am keen to find out where his money is. He had a broker who seems to have disappeared and no dividend cheque has arrived this year. Please update me.

good I also have a 20 year file on him. Funny to see letter regarding proposed land in Great Broughton was addressed to TW at Gentry Investment Trust Morecambe in 2002 when company were struck off in 2000 obviously council do no checking

I have been involved with gentry through buisness finance wallasey 4 20yrs approx but had know problem getting my investment cheque every year until it went back 2 T.W.in morecombe in 2007 anyway I now have a solicitor involved and am finding out allsorts about what he got up 2

To whom it may concern the records are available in black and white Malcolm Barber was a Director of Gentry appearing in 1989 and resigned as Director in 1992 the consumer credit licence for Gentry taken out in 1988 and lapsed in 2003 also has the name of Malcolm Barber on it. This is recorded fact!

I have been sent an application to apply for an accounts role and did find

I received the application form and looked at it carefully. Surprisingly, it has a bank account field information to fill.
After this I searched for Gentry Global Investment by company number shown in the formers. Surprisingly, again, it doesn't show up anywhere.

I knew Malcolm Barber and had many dealings with him in the period: 1974 - 1989; also, Terence Page [Page & Associates], John Hills [associated with Barber, Page & Holden], Eric London, James Holden [Hamilton House Associates] and Neil Bradshaw [Consolidated Capital Deposits & Consolidated Sterling Deposits].
