So I didn't get Feature Writer of the Year - and there was me thinking it was all about the stories... oh well.

"Justin Dunn was an enigma, said judges. His copy was inspired, hard hitting, gripping and thought provoking. Yet the way in which his entry had been submitted took some of the shine off a great portfolio of work. The judges wanted more information about the features he’d written, the research he’d undertaken and how the stories first came to light."

And as regards our runner-up position for Newspaper of the Year, the judges said:

"It was the Wirral Globe’s brilliant campaigning style that caught the judges’ eye this year. Justin Dunn’s revelations of council cock-ups, financial irregularities within local authority adult services and exclusives on bodies being buried in wrong graves, exhumed without permission and then switched in secret, crowned a fabulous year. The paper’s small team should feel justifiably proud of their achievements."

And we still didn't win that, either. Ho hum.
