Teachers hate them, kids seem to get nothing but stress out of them.
And they were a stupid Tory invention in the first place.
Why, then, aren't they being scrapped?
Two words.
"Ed Balls."

people who loved school also love work.. I think
My youngest is getting ready for his and is stressing! I keep telling him they don't matter they are only so the school look good if they put you under pressure to get the required amount of grades! I hate the Sats it is a waste of a year!
Oh, I thought they weren't getting rid of them because it made the government/local authority/school look attractive to middle class parents!

My daughter is currently getting ready for hers, she seems a little stressed, but only because they have heaped a lot of praise on her for getting more than the average kid of her age.
