Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling addressing the Worshipful Society of International Bankers on February 4 this year:

Amused to see on the Eye website that they've lookaliked Bryn Terfel with Ed Balls. Though on the Last Night of the Proms Mrs f and I identified Terfel as the love child of Digby Jones and Meatloaf.

Nice to see you giving the Eye credit which is more than Newmania in Lewes did. (No, I don't know how or why I came to be reading his pisspoor blog either!).
Interestingly, the transcription's wrong. Someone lost their reputation in the intervening two years between Balls' Darling's.
Balls said: "the strength and depth of talent and reputation which underpins...", while Darling said: "the strength and depth of the talent that underpins...".
Go figure!
