Liverpool woke up to find a 37-tonne mechanical spider hanging off a dilapidated tower block just outside Lime Street railway station today.
Look carefully, and you'll see it in this picture cleverly snapped by my friend in high places.
La Princess will be the star of La Machine - the £1.8m centrepiece event of Liverpool's Capital of Culture 08 year.
Later today it'll be transferred to the Arena on the riverfront where people can have a quick nose.
On Friday, however, it'll wake up and then wander around the city until Sunday, when it will make a somewhat spectacular exit...
We've been watching them rehearse at their "secret" test site, the old Cammel Laird shipyard down the road from our offices in Birkenhead.
It's from the same guys who brought the elephant to London last year, but this show is apparently the biggest one Britain's had so far - involving the removal of street furniture and roundabouts, no less.
Seriously, if you're within 100 miles, make the drive or train to Liverpool this weekend. It's going to be amazing.
