In 1974, Philippe Petit outraged the New York police department and confounded the watching world by conducting an illegal tightrope walk between the top of the now, of course, obliterated Twin Towers in New York.
When they asked him to give up his balancing pole, he merely laughed and ran, backwards, back across the rope again to the middle, a wind-buffeted 1350ft above the ground, with no safety harness whatsoever, while agape masses looked on with incredulous, heart-stopping astonishment below, as he played cat and mouse with the hapless cops for nearly an hour.
So not mad at all then.
Can't wait to see the documentary though...
