When a minister of a Government originally elected as a beacon of hope in a land of the dispossessed describes genuine opposition to the idea of making the poorest in our society just that bit poorer as "indulgent nonsense", I fear it's time to pack up and leave.
Ed Balls will probably deny it tomorrow, though.
